Lara Stone

Everybody knows that I have a model obsession and I love talking about models all the time. The poor boyfriend has to listen to me ramble on about how beautiful and perfect these models are, especially the Victoria's Secret girls. Not only that, I troll on models and I do background checks on them and all that weird stalker shit. Then, I came across Lara Stone.

Her super hot CK Push Positive ad was so absolutely stunning that I had to do my model research. Yeah, her boobs are cray but I was so drawn to her facial features and her gaze. I rate a model by her face first, then her body. Lara Stone is an absolute all-rounded 10. The hollows of her cheeks, her tooth gap and her eyes-nose-mouth proportion is just out of this world. All perfectly aligned, just simply perfect. I think her gaze is also her best "feature". She can switch from a glare to a whimsical daze in a matter of seconds, which is again, cray. She's 5'10" and she wears a US4-6, yeah, even with all that chest. Again, absolutely perfect.

In my opinion, what makes a model more human and more, in a way, real, is what he or she does off duty. What he or she does for the greater good of the community, impacting lives and becoming an inspiration. Lara Stone is not the earth-loving, vegan, gym-goer kind of inspiration that I always look out for. To me, she's an inspiration that transcends all meaning and understanding of the word itself.

Lara Stone got kicked out of high school at age 16. According to her, she never liked doing what she was told to do and she always challenged the authorities. In my opinion, I sort of felt that she knew how she was going to shape her life and she wasn't going to let anybody tell her how to do it. She let herself make mistakes and most importantly, she learns from them. She eventually, got around to getting a diploma (I think models that are highly-educated are the best kinds). Commendable effort on her part, considering how busy and tight her schedule is due to modelling.

Talking openly about body image is another thing that I love about her. Again, she's not afraid to say what she feels and how brutal the modelling world is when it comes to body image. I'm sure there're many other models who do that but her interviews are always so honest and open. Which is something I look up to her for.

And even now that her position in fashion's firmament ought to be secure, given she has earned Karl Lagerfeld's favor, worked with the world's top photographers, and been on multiple covers of British, French, and American Vogue, she still encounters narrow-minded folks who make her feel like "the odd one out." "I was on a shoot just last week," Stone told Johnson, "and the stylist took out this tight corset dress and said, 'Here, put it on,' and I was like, 'Who are you kidding?' There was no way, so that was very rude of her. It's like, come on, she's a woman; whether you're buying jeans at the mall or wearing couture, you know what it's like for clothes not to fit. It's not an easy kind of rejection, because it's very personal. It's you, your body. You take it to heart." SOURCE

This article just made me love her even more. The quote just screams yes-finally-someone-immortal-understands. I like that she's careful with her words and she doesn't shoot her mouth off, which just adds on to the amount of class she already has. Body image speaks to me the most because I, just like any other girls, have struggled with body image and will continue to struggle, just because girls will always be girls. It's something that I, or any other girl can explain but Lara Stone can express it in a couple of sentences.

Lara Stone is also married to a UK comedian-actor-writer, David Walliams and they'll be expecting a child some time this year which is major awesome. If it were to be a girl, I bet the girl will be as famous and as couture-ey as her mother. Maybe like Thylane Blondeau. Point is, her relationship with her husband is just magical. Wherever Lara is, David is there and vice versa. Most of the time, holding hands, hugging each other. I love how they aren't afraid to show their affection, no matter what people say. Also makes me feel that they love each other too much to let go? Which is the sweetest thing ever, in my opinion. When David swam the freezing cold Thames River for charity, Lara was on a speedboat, behind him, cheering him on and encouraging people to help donate. I literally cried when I watched that video. Props to them for always being there and looking out for each other, despite their busy schedules. Most celebrities, blame it on their busy schedules for keeping them apart but Lara and David have proven to be a couple that is inseparable, despite their schedules.

All in all, I feel that Lara Stone is a model that not only has superbly good features, but also a good heart. Her audacity, determination and compassion is just sheer brilliance. She does have her fair share of haters, criticising her attitude and her looks but then again, what do haters know? They make non-constructive criticism all the time without learning to appreciate or even trying to understand. But then again, when you're as perfect as Lara Stone, what are haters?

PS. Gosh this picture of her is so perfect I can't even. This post was actually supposed to be an instagram post followed by a long ass caption but........I decided to blog about it instead.
